What we keep,
and who sees it.
What we store
Your sign-in details, profile (name, handle, city and bio), optional photo and payment handles, requests, hearts, and private self-reported gift notes. Gift Circle does not collect bank details or handle transfers. Earlier gift-card test records may remain, but new gift-card checkout is switched off.
Your name and photo
Your email address is never shown to anyone. Your profile — including your uploaded photo — is visible only to signed-in members, and only once you switch “show me in the circle” on. Turning it off hides your profile and photo from other members straight away.
Because circle members can see the photo of anyone who has opted in, please choose a photo you are comfortable with other members seeing.
Requests, payment handles and gift notes
A request defaults to private. Choosing “the circle” shows its note and requested amount to signed-in members while your profile is visible. Your payment handles are shared only when both handle sharing and circle visibility are on. A gift’s amount and private note are visible only to sender and recipient. Hearts on shared requests are visible to members who can view the request. Gift notes are never added to the circle feed.
Venmo and Cash App have their own privacy settings and may show your identity to the recipient or others. Gift Circle cannot make external transfers anonymous or verify them.
Removing yourself
You can hide from the circle or stop sharing payment handles from your profile. You can close, hide or delete your requests from “My requests”. To have your account and everything attached to it removed, email aleksenenoi@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and say so.
This is an early preview
Gift Circle is being tested with a small group; external transfers may involve real money. The rules above describe how the app behaves today; if they change, this page will say so before the change goes live.
